Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has received approval from the World Bank to float the civil tender for Phase Two of the Gurugram Metro project, a significant step forward in the city’s mass transit expansion.
The tender, valued at approximately ₹1,400 crore, covers the construction of a 13-km metro corridor from Sector 9 to CyberHub, including 14 stations across key locations such as Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Palam Vihar, Udyog Vihar, Cyber City, and a spur connection to the Gurugram railway station. The corridor will also integrate with existing and upcoming transit networks, including the Rapid Metro and Namo Bharat Rail, enhancing regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, construction of Phase One, connecting Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, is progressing, with work already underway and completion targeted for August 2028.
